I was getting an E1810 error on a PowerEdge 2950. I have 4 drives and two virtual disks. Disk 0 and 1 and RAID-1 for Virtual Disk 0, Disk 2 and 3 or RAID-1 for Virtual Disk 1.
I saw a flashing amber light on Drive 0 and in Server Manager it had an error. I got a new drive (same specs as the failed one), pulled out Drive 0 and put this new hard drive in it's place. Typically I am used to the hard drive automatically rebuilding, but it didn't. In server manager, I saw an option to set the drive as a Global Hot Spare. After I did that I saw that it was rebuilding. Eventually the drive changed to Online. However, I still have an amber light on Disk 0 with the same error.
I have some strange things going on in Server Manager as well. I'm running version 6.5 as higher versions won't show me the Storage information.
If I to go to System/Storage/PERC 6i Integrated/Connector 0/Enclosure (Backplane)/Physical Disks, it shows me Physical Disk 0:0:1, 0:0:2, 0:0:3.
If I to go to System/Storage/PERC 6i Integrated/Connector 0/Physical Disks, it shows me Physical Disk 0:33.
System/Storage/PERC 6i Integrated/Virtual Disks/Virtual Disk 0 shows Physical Disk 0:0:1 and 0:33 both as Online
System/Storage/PERC 6i Integrated/Virtual Disks/Virtual Disk 1 shows Physical Disk 0:0:2 and 0:0:3 both as Online
Why is the new drive I put in showing as 0:33 and not 0:0:0? Why is it not listed as part of the Backplane (Enclosure)? Why do I still have a flashing amber light?
